What garage door replacement covers
The rough rule: if a repair costs more than half a new door, or you have paid for three repairs in two years, replacement is the cheaper road. We give you both numbers and let you decide.
A replacement is also the moment to fix things the original builder skipped — proper insulation, a quieter belt-drive opener, and a modern bottom seal that keeps snowmelt and mice out.
Common jobs
- Cracked, rusted or rotted sections
- Repeated failures on an old door
- Vehicle-impact and storm damage

FAQ
Questions we get asked
When should I replace rather than repair my garage door?
When the repair costs more than about half a new door, when you've paid for three repairs in two years, or when sections are cracked, rusted through or rotted. Cosmetics count too — a replacement is the cheapest visible upgrade most houses can make.
Can you replace a garage door in one day?
On most homes, yes. Old door and track out, new door, track, springs and hardware in, opener reconnected and tested, all in a single visit.
Do you take the old door away?
Yes, the old door, track and hardware go with us and get recycled. Nothing left on your driveway.
Will I need a new opener with a new door?
Not necessarily. If your opener is reasonably new and rated for the weight of the new door, we'll reconnect it. Heavier insulated doors sometimes need more power, and we'll tell you before you commit.
Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or holidays?
No. The price we quote is the price you pay whether it's Tuesday lunchtime or two o'clock on Christmas morning. We don't run an overtime rate.
How long does a spring replacement take?
Usually under an hour and a half for a standard two-car door, including winding the new springs, re-setting the cable drums and balancing the door. We replace springs in pairs, so you're not back here in three months for the second one.
My spring broke — can I still use the door?
Don't. With a broken spring the opener is trying to lift the door's full weight on its own, which burns out the motor and shreds cables. Leave the door down, leave the opener alone and call us. If the door is up, don't stand or park underneath it.

What Idaho customers say
★★★★★
Cable snapped and the door was hanging sideways. Told me over the phone not to touch it, which was good advice because I was about to.

Belt drive instead of the old chain. Our bedroom is over the garage and we genuinely cannot hear it now.

We run four bays and he set us up on a maintenance schedule after the second breakdown. Haven't lost a bay since.
