About Paul's Garage Door Inc
One truck in 2004, and a stubborn idea that a garage door price should be a number you hear before anyone drives out.
Paul started this company after a decade of watching customers get quoted a range on the phone and a much larger figure in the driveway. The fix was simple and it still runs the business: describe the door, get a flat price, and that price doesn't move because it turned out to be a Sunday.
What we actually do all day
Roughly seven out of ten calls are one of four things — a snapped torsion spring, a frayed lift cable, a stripped opener drive gear, or a door dragged off its track. We carry all of it on the truck. That's the difference between a job finishing today and a job finishing next week when the part arrives.
The rest is new doors. Insulated steel for attached garages, carriage-house for the ones where the garage faces the street, full-view glass and aluminium for shops, and rolling steel and dock doors for warehouses and fleet bays.
How we price
Flat, quoted before work starts, parts and labour and disposal included. No call-out fee. No overtime rate at night, on weekends or on holidays. If we find something else once we're on site, you get a new written price and the choice to say no.
Where we work
All of Idaho — 199 cities and towns, from Bonners Ferry down to Bear Lake and from the Palouse across to the Tetons. Technicians are based across the state rather than run out of one office, which is how we keep same-day slots realistic in places three hours from Boise.
When we tell you not to buy from us
If a repair costs more than about half a new door, or you've paid for three repairs in two years, we say so. We'd rather quote you a replacement once than a repair three times.
